Counsel to the police DCP James Idachaba has cautioned the Independent Investigative Panel on Human Rights Violations by the defunct SARS and other units of the Nigerian police to be mindful of fraud stars that may take advantage of the panel to make money.

Kinsley Ezera Kalu, a complainant before the Independent Investigative Panel on Allegations of Human Rights Violations by defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other Units of the Nigeria Police on Thursday narrated how SARS operative in Abuja shot him on his left leg while on an evening outing with his wife, on 18th of October, 2017.

A complainant, Marcus Odianose, at the Independent Investigative Panel on allegations of human rights violations by the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other units of the Nigerian Police, on Thursday presented a certified true copy of judgement from the FCT high court awarding him N1 million (one million naira) in respect of the cruel and inhuman and degrading treatment meted out to him by some operatives the Nigeria Police Force.

Former Zamfara state Governor, Senator Ahmad Yerima on Wednesday appeared before the Independent Investigative Panel on alleged human rights violation by the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other units of the Nigerian Police following his summon over alleged complicity in threatening the life of a businessman, Alhaji Musa Wapa.
