Counsel to the police Mr. Fidelis Ogwobe has stated before the Independent Investigative Panel On Human Rights Violations by the defunct SARS and other Units of the Nigerian police force that police officers who abandon their duty posts to go elsewhere are no longer acting as police officers at that time.

The Police on Monday told the Independent Investigative Panel on human rights violations by the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other police units in Abuja, that a petitioner, Blessing Emmanuel has failed to prove the identity of the person(s) who allegedly killed her son, Uchenna Emmanuel during the clash that broke out in Dutse, a suburb in Abuja,on 20th October, 2020.
