Key Highlights
- 268,787 complaints were recorded in May, a marginal rise from April's 266,787. North Central (45%), North East (19%), and North West (18%) accounted for the bulk of complaints, with FCT, Benue, and Borno leading.
- Mass killings persisted, especially in Plateau, Katsina, Benue, Zamfara, and Yobe.
- Children were repeatedly targeted with mass abductions in Borno and Oyo. Cases of sexual violence against children were reported in Adamawa, Bauchi, Ondo, Rivers, and Enugu.
- NHRC completed 3,560 investigations in May, alongside 107 visits to police stations, correctional centres, and detention facilities.
