As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate the 2020 International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade (IDRVS), the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is calling for an end to all forms of modern day slavery to pave the way for full enjoyment of human rights in Nigeria by all the rural and urban poor, the rich, the downtrodden, the displaced and the homeless.

As Nigeria joins the rest of the global community to commemorate the 2020 World Humanitarian Day (WHD), the National Human Rights Commission is urging government at all levels and other stakeholders not to compromise on the security of all humanitarian workers who despite all adds, work round the clock to provide a lifeline and protection to people in need.

As Nigeria joins the global community to mark the 2020 Nelson Mandela Day, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) enjoins government, Private Enterprises and Civil Society organizations to do more in ensuring equality and social justice for everyone in all spheres of life especially at this critical time of COVID-19 pandemic.
